The Five Apparitions of Morning Star

The following apparitions of Morning Star are shown as they would be seen from Tula, Mexico, and trace the path of the Morning Star through the sky from its heliacal rising to its return to conjunction with the sun. Since the background stars shift substantially during the course of the planet across the sky, the stars shown are those found at the end of the apparition. The dates are subject to calendrical drift, but serve to illustrate the time spans involved. The pattern with the position of the horizon made constant is given in the illustration to the left of the primary caption. ¹

Morning Star Apparition II (Flint/Reed)
August 22, 728 - June 12, 729
7-Monkey of 3-Flint — 2-Snake of 3-Flint

▣Rose near the star 61 Leonis, retrograded between β Sextantis and 35 Sextantis (11 September), passes through Leo into Virgo (11 October), reaches Libra (23 November), then Scorpius (15 December), Ophiuchus (20 December), Sagittarius (4 January 729), Capricornus (31 January), Aquarius (23 February), Pisces (17 March), Aries (16 April), Taurus (4 May), Gemini (4 May) where it reached conjunction with the sun near the star 37 Geminorum.
