The Eclipse of 4 October 1717

On 4 October 1717, a solar eclipse began which was easily viewable from Hōcąk territory. At its peak (1742:51 hrs UT = 1242:51 hours local time) the solar disc was 91.1% covered by the dark disc. The eclipse began at 1617:44 UT (1117:44 local time). At 1908:50 hrs. UT (1408 hrs. local time), the dark disc slipped off the Sun. The details of this eclipse are presented by NASA:15.1
